If anyone out there doesn't know what “American Idol” is, it is a reality television show that features competitions in search of solo musical talents. There are a panel of judges that judge the contestants and, of course, the best one wins. It first debuted on June 11, 2002 and the creator is Simon Cowell. It has become the most popular show in the history of television for Americans. This show actually originated from a British show “Pop Idol,” which took place in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Everyone that watches “American Idol” knows that Paul Abdul is no longer on the show. It is reported that judge Cowell was earning $40 million, while Paula Abdul was earning about $2 million. There is talk about how she requested $20 million, but in turn was offered twice her salary ($4 million.) Some say this is just one of the reasons she left the show. Some speculate that she can get more in other places. It is also said that she got tired of living in the shadow of Cowell.
Some question if this could be the show’s last season. The reason for this question is because many question if it will still be the same without Paula Abdul. There is also talk that Simon Cowell might be leaving as well. There are a share of different opinions from fans on this situation. Some think that the addition of Ellen DeGeneres will bring a lot of excitement to the show.
