American Idol Season 9 started off Hollywood week one with the hopes of many young contestants. And also the face of a new judge. Ellen DeGeneres took her seat as the fourth judge on American Idol. She proved to be worthy of the position. Ellen took her job seriously while at times still making a few jokes. She went along with the business side of being a judge and did a commendable job. But I still miss Paula Abdul. Her warmth and kindness were an integral part of American Idol and that part was sorely missing from Hollywood week. She had a way of making bad news seem not-so-bad when she told someone they were through.
The show seemed a little boring however to me. Did you feel the same way about the way the show was centered? It seemed to show too much of the preperation for group day and how the contestants acted rather then focus on the singing part. I would have like to hear more of the actual auditions. Next week we learn who the top 24 are -- will Michael still be there ( the new father from the Orlando audition) or will his father telling everyone he made it cause his dismissal?
