What's The Future For American Idol?

American Idol, a reality television show, had its beginning in June of 2002. Its main purpose was to find solo musical talent. It was initially on the FOX Network. It has skyrocketed into one of the most popular shows in the history of television. It has been rated #1 in the ratings for the past five consecutive seasons.

The theme of the program is to find the best singer in the country by holding a series of national auditions. The winner is determined by viewers who vote on the person of their choice.

Along with votes from television viewers the show has a panel of judges whose job it is to give their opinions of the contestant's performances. Currently serving as judges are Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuaardi, and Ellen DeGeneres. Two judges who recently left the show are Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell. The show has been renewed for three more seasons.

Current reviews indicate the show is quite popular, and several of the winners have gone on to establish their place in the world of music. There appears to be no end to the number of people who will try for a position in the try-outs held for the show.

It has been stated that American Idol ranks highly in the realm of reality shows and there is no reason to believe that this will change any time soon. People are eagerly looking forward to its return in the fall and are hoping the current panel of judges will do as well as those who came before them.
