Last evening, the Season 9 auditions for American Idol were held in Chicago. Only 13 people out of 12,000 received golden tickets to Hollywood. And Fox News reported that one of the 13 had their ticket revoked so that leaves it down to an even dozen. Did you know that there are preliminary auditions held before other judges before these auditions before Simon, Randy etc. are held? One of my best friend's niece tried out in Chicago and she wasn't even in front of the Big Judges. She has an excellent voice as I have heard her recordings and I don't understand how some of the people with really bad voices make it through the first phase of the auditions. Probably due to what Idol wants to air on television as it's worst auditions. Do you feel or see any difference in these auditions from the last few seasons? Are we just getting so used to what is supposed to happen that it is just a blur of faces or have you seen that one person who stands out to you yet? I live only about 40 minutes from Chicago and one of those who made it through was from a town I used to live in a long time ago -- Gary, Indiana -- the home of Michael Jackson. Well Randy hasn't said dawg yet and people are exiting through the right doors this season so there is an improvement!! Ready for Orlando --the next stop on the audition tour.
