Cedar Point is located in Sandusky Ohio and is set upon a peninsula that juts into Lake Erie and gives that visitor a spectacular view. It is the second oldest amusement park in North America boasting over 75 rides. Cedar Point specializes in roller coasters with the Top Thrill Dragster the second ranking worldwide in speed and height. The park was first developed as a beer garden and in 1892 the first roller coaster was built.
Cedar Point is fun for the whole family -- fromm thrill rides to family rides to kiddy rides at Kiddy Kingdom featuring Camp Snoopy. There are live shows and a water park as well. Three carousels, the Midway Fountain with its jumping waterspouts, over 55 food establishments with more mobile specialty carts make this a wonderful vacation adventure.
There are many places to stay near the park -- hotels, motels and campgrounds. Cedar Point is open from May into November with regular daily passes costing about $45 and discount rates for children and seniors. Cedar Point is indeed a family getaway with many different parts to explore. It made its way from a locale for hunting and fishing to a beer garden and finally to the special amusement park it is today.
