This chapter in Idol history is one that is looked back upon with both sadness and joy.
The untimely death of Michael Jackson on June 25th 2009, made this show grow beyond its original bonds. The show proved to be both a celebration of Michael Jackson, his music and his life but also when reviewing the show or listening to the recordings, there is a deep sadness. The void in the entertainment and humanitarian world will never be filled by anyone else as it was by Michael. The songs that contestants sang showed his versitile style in music and also his meaningful lyrics.

I was glad that this tribute show was done -- it will live on through Idol history and in the hearts of the fans of American Idol and Michael Jackson. Even though Michael is gone, his music and most of all his kind spirit will live on through future generations of performers as indicated by this special American Idol show.
