Bo Bice was a contestant on the hit show "American Idol." In 2005, Bo was the runner-up in the fourth season. Bo’s real names is Harold Elwin Bice, Jr.; however, his grandmother gave him the nickname Bo when he was a little boy. There are a lot of speculations on Bice’s recent health problems. To be honest, no one can really pinpoint why his heath conditions have occurred.
Bo’s intestinal problems seemed to greatly affect him back in 2005. It was then that he went into the hospital because of hematemesis in December. Then in August of that same year, Bice had immediate surgery to remove the blockage from his intestines. However, troubles seemed to keep coming for the star. In 2006, he had to go through surgery again. The doctors seem to think that his condition is called intussusception.
Intussusception is typically a condition that affects small children. Basically, the bowels become blocked due to the fact that one section of the bowels moves against another section of the intestines. Symptoms include pain, throwing up blood, hypoglycemia, etc. It is unfortunate, not only for Bo, but anyone who suffers with this illness. This is due to the fact that it is unclear why this happens. There are speculations that it may be connected to a virus, because it typically occurs in the fall and spring seasons. Hopefully for Bo, this will be his last surgery. We wish Bo Bice only the best with his life, with music, and his health conditions.
