Bo Bice became a household name after appearing on American Idol Season Four. He was a runner-up in the competition and was beat out by country singer Carrie Underwood. American Idol was just the start of his new career. He signed a deal with RCA records in 2005 and released his first single “Inside Your Heaven.” This song was performed as the finale song on American Idol. His version debuted on the Billboard charts at number one, even replacing Carrie Underwood’s version of the single. He debuted his new band called SugarMoney in October 2005. The band has even performed with such acts as Warrant and even with Johnny Neal, of seminal blues/rock group the Allman Brothers.
He has also been extremely busy helping Hurricane Katrina victims. He even gave up his house to one of the family’s that lost their home in the hurricane. He has held benefit concerts to help families that suffered so much loss in Hurricane Katrina. Bice is not only an outstanding artist, but a gentleman of great character. He continues to make records, guest appearances and even appeared on a CMT special which documented his life.
Life was not always fame and fortune for Bo Bice. He dropped out of high school when he was 17 and earned his GED in Alabama. Bo did have his own fair share of troubles in life. Since then, life has been much different for him. He is currently married with two sons and lives in Nashville.
