His roots are in the South and it will always be home for him. In November of 1975, Bo Bice was born in Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama.
He was named Harold Elwin “Bo” Bice Jr. by his mom and dad, Nancy and Harold Elwin Bice. His mom sang and his dad played guitar, so music ran through his veins. His nickname was Bogart because of his eyes and later called Bo when he started school. His parents split when he was young, so he grew up with his mom and step-dad. He had a couple step siblings and a few half siblings. At the age of 13 he won a contest at school. Bo left Huntsville, Alabama when they moved to London when he was 14, but he would return in three to four years.
Bo went to school in a place for military kids in London. He always carried around a guitar and was known to have had several girlfriends. During his high school days he played with some English kids playing alternative rock. Spinning Jenny became his first band while he was still living in London. He dropped out his junior year of high school at almost 18-years-old and moved back to Alabama. He acquired his GED and then went to college for a semester playing music and started his musical career.
Becoming professional and doing shows all over the U.S., he also had many bands like Purge and Sugarmoney. He became a member of a church in Alabama and met the person who is now his wife. They married in 2005 and have a couple of children. He was one of the oldest performers on Idol that made it as far as he did. Bo performed in Huntsville on October 15, 2005 at a 36th Anniversary Open House for Joe East Heating & Cooling and Hurricane Survivor Benefit. This showed his loyalty and care for the city dwellers.
