Bo Bice has been making a living with his music for 12 years. However, it wasn’t until he became the runner up on American Idol season four that his career truly took off. His gruff tenor voice and everyday country boy charm make him a favorite on the country music charts.
His first album debuted in December 13, 2005 and was called “The Real Thing.” The album was a great success. To Bo though, the album frustrated him because his contract stipulated his singing other people’s pop songs.
“The Real Thing” didn’t show the world who the real Bo Bice is. Today, he’s able to explore his southern rocker roots. Bo Bice enjoys the freedom of owning his own label called the SugarMoney/StratArt Label. His partner for this album is Strategic Artist Management. He plans, writes, sings and plays several instruments with his band, SugarMoney on the album called “See the Light.”
“See the Light” has bluesy, southern rocker songs immersed in gospel about sinners, whiskey and redemption. You’ll want to rock out to the blues song “Witness.” “I’m Gone” is a song in his husky tenor voice that is mellow yet powerful. He’s recorded the album at his home in his own studio.
Bo Bice plays piano, guitar, bass guitar and saxophone. He had formal voice training in high school chorus, which clearly shows in his performances and recordings today. He’s happier now that he has his own label. Now, he’s free to write and sing his own songs. He’s a singer who has truly come into his own.
