Some people say yes, but in comparing their success, many would say no. Clay Aiken was the second runner up of "American Idol" in 2003. He made a big hit as a pop singer. Immediately after the show, a contract was signed with RCA. His first single release became one of the fastest single sellers since "Candle in The Wind" by Elton John. He has released four albums and his third album won the third best debut of the year. His fourth album debuts as fourth place on the charts.
Anthony Federov finished fourth in the 2005 "American Idol" TV talent show. As a toddler he had surgery on his windpipe to cure a birth defect and defeated the odds of ever talking again, much less singing. He was also a great hit on the show and has a great following of fans. He was dubbed as "the Clay Aiken of season four" and fans were disappointed that he didn't win. Unlike Clay, he hasn't been as successful with his recordings. His dream of being a singer though, has finally come to fruition after waiting four years with his soon to be released CD.
Both singers have beautiful tenor voices. Both did some performances with a variety of TV shows, singing groups, etc., but their music is different. Anthony does best with ballads and sings songs with a Latin flavor, even in Spanish and Italian. Even though Clay is way ahead with his success, they both still have a great following of fans.
