American Idol has been a controversial show since it first aired on FOX television in 2002. ?This singing competition is to help determine America’s next superstar.? Not only is one able to just watch the show, but one can participate by voting for their favorite performer of the night.?
This year on season 8, American Idol has made some changes to the show that may or may not have an impact on its viewers. For instance, the traditional three judges that you have been ?accustomed to have added one more judge to the panel, Kara DioGuardi. DioGuardi is a record producer and singer/songwriter, who has worked with previous Idol's such as Kelly Clarkson. Her ?critiques will ?definitely be taken inconsideration with her musical background.
Another change that has people buzzing this season is the return of the wild card. This heats the competition up a bit by bringing back eliminated contestants to give them a chance to sing for a spot in the top 12. This may mean that the top 12 may not consist of the usual 6 boys and 6 girls, but an uneven amount. Despite those minor changes in the show, American Idol season 8 will not be participating in the show Idol Gives Back this year due to the economic suffering in the United States.
The changes made to American Idol season 8 are not that drastic, but are enough to either make or break the show. This can effect the viewers participation in the show to not want to participate at all. Only time and ratings will tell.
