Though her career got off to a somewhat rocky start with "The One: Making a Music Star;" it lasted two whole weeks. While working for Billboard magazine selling advertising, she became interested in the business. It would really be hard to picture such a powerful force in the music industry being proposed to wearing smiley-face pajamas, but that’s just the way she is.

As the forth judge on Americas most popular talent show, she brings a new strength that some say has been lacking. With numerous BMI Pop Awards and a personal song catalog numbering in the hundreds, she knows exactly what these kids need to do. As a Vice President of A&R, a division of Warner Bros., she knows exactly what it takes for these kids to make it.
She also knows how hard they can crash, she is not there to sugar coat her comments, and some may find her more brutal then Simon. She is there to educate them, tell them what the industry is looking for and what they need to do to step it up.
