Most people know of David Cook, the former winner of the seventh season of television show "American Idol." From early years he was very interested in music; he was singing since grade school. Being a contestant on "American Idol" and winning it gave David huge popularity. Story goes that David didn’t plan to audition for the show. He came over with his brother to support him. Andrew, David’s brother, didn’t make it to Hollywood, but David did. Cook won the seventh season of the show on May 21, 2008. He sang “The time of my life.” After the show he released an album entitled "Analog Heart."
During the week following his victory, Cook broke many Billboard chart records; he also had 11 songs debut at the same time on Hot 100, beating previous records of other artists with that result. His first single, “The time of my life,” ended as number three on the list Top 100. His songs became very poplar in USA and UK as well. The numbers of downloads beat all previous records of other singers. David also signed a deal with Sketchers that’s due in December of 2009. In 2008, at The Teen Choice Awards, he received an award for the Best Reality/Variety Star. He has also been working with many other singers like Ed Roland, Zach Maloy and Kevin Griffin on his self-titled debut album. This album was certified platinum. Cook began his tour, "The Declaration," on February 12, 2009 in Tallahassee, Florida; it is scheduled to end in West Palm Beach, Florida on May 2, 2009.
America agreed that David Cook is a very talented, young rising star. He started his career years ago, but "American Idol" made him famous and popular all around the world. There is no doubt that world will see a lot of great songs, albums and performances from this artist.
