Most popularly known for being on American Idol, Bice has been dealing with an intestinal condition for several years. This condition, known as intussusception, is a type of intestinal blockage that causes swelling, blockage and bleeding. Since 2005, Bo Bice has been hospitalized for chronic intestinal blockages that sometimes require corrective surgery. This condition can cause a complete body infection called sepsis and lead to death if untreated.
Bice had to miss a few tour dates during the last few years and took some time off to focus on his health. In 2007, he created his own label, Sugar Money/StratArt, and an album titled "See the Light." He spent last year promoting the album and collaborating with various projects. Bo has also participated with American Idol Camp where children get to focus on developing their vocal skills, song writing and instrument playing. He has spent time at the camp in between tour dates to help mentor the campers. Bo and his wife have two sons and live in Nashville, Tennessee.
Despite health issues, Bo Bice continues to entertain his fans. His current tour is doing well, and Bice's fans couldn't be happier. Bo Bice has the essence of a true entertainer, and shows this by continuing to tour as a professional musician, despite health issues. Bo Bice will continue to entertain fans for many years.
