Bo Bice Jr. was actually born Harold Elwin on November 1, 1975 in Huntsville, Alabama. He was given the nickname Bogart after Humphrey Bogart by his grandmother. When he got older, he shortened his nickname to “Bo,” thinking it sounded better.
Bice, a singer and a musician, became the runner up in American Idol, losing to Carrie Underwood during the 2005 season. During his early career he was a member of the bands Purge, Blue Suede Nickel and Sugar Money. He was fortunate enough to have been able to open concerts for popular bands such as Warrant and Blackfoot.
In June of 2005 following his competition in American Idol, his version of “Inside Your Heaven” was released. It skyrocketed to first on the Billboard Hot Singles chart. The flip side of the record was shared with Richie Sambora and went gold a month later.
Bice met his girlfriend, Caroline Fisher, in Hoover Alabama, at the Ragtime Cafe where she was a waitress. They were married in Helena, Alabama on June 15, 2005. Their first son, Aidan, was born in September of 2005. Their second son, Caleb, was born in August of 2008.
In December of 2005, his first album, “The Real Thing” was released. His second album, “See the Light,” was released in October of 2007. Since then, he has performed for the U. S. troops while visiting Kuwait and Afghanistan. He also has a tour across the United States beginning in February. He currently resides in Nashville with his family.
