Bo Bice, the runner up for the American Idol crown during the fourth season, has continued to do what he loves, making music. He joins the ranks of a number of American Idol contestants who did not win the contest but have made a name for themselves in the music industry.
Bice’s music is often described as Southern rock, reminiscent of the Black Crowes and Lynyrd Skynyrd. His rock technique is mixed with an element of the blues and gospel that makes it hard to resist. Bice’s soulful vocals churn out the passion that is Southern rock.
Bice’s first single, “Inside Your Heaven,” was released in 2005 and hit the number one spot on Billboard’s Hot Single Sales chart. That same year, his first album was certified Gold. Bice’s first solo album, The Real Thing, opened at number four in December of 2005.
In October of 2007, Bice introduced his second album, entitled See the Light. He said that as he picked out and co-wrote songs, he was keeping in mind the people who would be using their hard earned money to buy his album.
Bice has been working with Peavey Electronics Corporation to build a Bo Bice guitar. This guitar will be part of the Peavey product line. Although Bo Bice did not take the American Idol crown, he has already developed a strong fan base and has made a mark in the Southern rock genre.
