Southern rocker Bo Bice, who was American Idol’s Season 4 runner-up to Carrie Underwood, is a family man. Born in Huntsville, Alabama to Nancy and Harold Elwin Bice in 1975, Bo comes from a large, caring and supportive family filled with aunts, uncles and cousins. Some of Bo’s cousins stay in touch with his fans on Yahoo Groups, where they post updates from Bo’s mother, who communicates with him more frequently than other family members. Back in the early 1970’s, Bo’s mom Nancy used to perform with her two cousins Evie Hawkins and Rhea Tilley in the musical group “The Singing Jays.”
Obviously, Bo gets his musical ability from his mother, who also did some modeling and acting in commercials for Payless Shoe Source, The Winery and Southern Family Homes. Bo’s grandmother, Madge Schofield, attends his concerts regularly and appeared on American Idol more than a few times back when Bo was a contestant. Several reporters interviewed “Granny” during that time and it was brought out that she is quite a seamstress. She makes Bo’s performing outfits for him. Bo’s dad is also blessed with musical talent and plays the guitar.
Bo got his nickname from Granny Madge, who called him “Bogart,” because she thought he had eyes like Humphrey Bogart. Bo was managing a guitar store when he met his wife-to-be, Caroline Fisher, a waitress and college student born in 1980. They dated for two years before tying the knot on June 15, 2005 in Helena, Alabama. The couple currently has two children, both boys: Aidan Michael Bice, born on September 24, 2005 and Caleb James Bice, born August 5, 2008. The family presently dwells in Nashville, Tennessee.
